**Yes — most of our customers stay home,** and nothing about the work requires you to leave. That said, it’s loud, and a few people should plan an outing.
What the day actually feels like:
– **Noise is constant, not occasional.** Tear-off means shovels scraping directly above your ceiling, then nail guns for the rest of the day.
– **Vibration travels.** Pictures shift and light fixtures tremble. Take down anything fragile on upper-floor walls the night before.
– **Attic dust comes down** through recessed lights and vents. Cover anything stored up there.
– **Crews start early,** usually around 7:00 AM, to finish tear-off before the Houston afternoon heat.
Plan to be elsewhere if you take calls from home, have an infant on a nap schedule, work nights and sleep days, or have anyone in the house sensitive to noise.
A few things that make the day go smoother: move vehicles off the driveway and away from the front of the house, keep pets indoors and away from exterior doors, and tell us where your kids play so we can position the dumpster elsewhere.
We tarp landscaping and run magnet sweeps at the end of every day.
